The new European Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR) is transforming the way we think about international trade, forest-risk commodities, and corporate sustainability. To support this transition, the EMMA4EU project is launching a new series of international events: the EMMA4EU Awareness Workshops.
These 4 awareness workshops will take place in Germany, Denmark, Italy, and the Netherlands from September 2025 to February 2026, and are designed to promote a better understanding of the EUDR among key stakeholders in Europe, considering the one-year postponement. If you are working in supply chain management, responsible sourcing, policy development, or sustainability education, these events are for you.
Why join the EMMA4EU Awareness Workshops?
The EU Deforestation-Free Products Regulation (EUDR) has a direct impact on supply chains, procurement strategies, and environmental governance across Europe.
The EMMA4EU Awareness Workshops aim to:
- Raise awareness of the EUDR across sectors and countries
- Encourage dialogue between businesses, policymakers, researchers and NGOs
- Share tools and strategies for implementing deforestation-free supply chains
- Promote cross-sectoral cooperation and education.
The first workshop took place in Bonn and was organised by the University of Freiburg, in partnership with OroVerde – Tropical Forest Foundation and the Global Nature Fund (GNF) and with the support of EMMA4EU partners.
The event was hold in German and focused on the implications of the EUDR for German companies and institutions working in agriculture, forestry, and international trade.
